2. Hosting and technical delivery

This website is hosted on a server provided by:

Hetzner Online GmbH
Industriestr. 25
91710 Gunzenhausen
Germany

When the website is requested, technically necessary connection data is processed to deliver the requested page and protect the service. This can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer, and browser user agent. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interests are secure, reliable delivery and defence against abuse.

GearJunkie does not use its access logs for audience measurement or profiling. Security and error logs are minimised and rotated after no more than seven days unless a security incident requires longer retention for establishing or defending legal claims.

3. No analytics, advertising, or tracking

This website does not use analytics services, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting. Fonts and visual assets are served from this server. No consent banner is shown because the public website does not store non-essential information on your device.

The language switch is a regular link and does not store a language preference in a cookie or local storage.

4. AI editorial pipeline

The automated editorial pipeline processes publicly available technical sources and trend metadata on the server and through the OpenAI API. It is not designed to process visitor data. Website requests, IP addresses, and email messages are not passed to the OpenAI API for article generation.

Public social-media discussions are used only as trend signals. The pipeline minimises stored data and does not intentionally retain commenter profiles or private content.

5. Email contact

If you contact me by email, I process the information you send to answer your request. Depending on the subject, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Messages are deleted when the request has been resolved and no statutory retention duty or legal claim requires continued storage.

6. External links

No content from YouTube, Reddit, or other social platforms is embedded. External connections are made only after you actively follow a source link. The linked provider is then responsible for its own processing.

7. Your rights

Subject to the applicable requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection. You can withdraw consent with future effect where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

The competent supervisory authority for Baden-Württemberg is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI Baden-Württemberg).
